CINEPLEX VIP MENU DESIGN


To support the rollout of theatres across Canada, Woods Creative was engaged to design, develop and manage a national menu system for use in all VIP theatres, lounges and restaurants. The artdeco-inspired chalkboard theme paid homage to theatre culture of the twenties with a contemporary twist. Beyond the aesthetic appeal of the design, the adaptive functionality was an essential facet to the success and longevity of this menu system. As new locations came online, the menus were adapted to accommodate location-specific offerings, and, in the case of Quebec, translated perfectly into French. The design withstood the test of time through multiple iterations and served as the baseline for successive menu concepts.

Building on the momentum and success of the 2013-2015 menu set, Woods Creative was invited to produce a new design concept to help carry VIP through 2016. With the introduction of an expanded menu and a greater focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the need for a visually-aligned concept was apparent. Woods Creative brought together this fresh, vibrant concept, built on a framework specifically designed to grow with their business.

Cineplex is an ever-evolving, dynamic entity; forever testing new ideas. Along the way, a variety of test kitchens, lounge concepts and site-specific brands have required smaller-scale brand development, along with the collateral to match. Woods Creative brings these offerings to life by providing a wide range of photography solutions designed to inspire, inform and entice. Ranging from versatile catalog photography, to stylized overhead images with creative post-production wherever appropriate, our approach to emotionally inspiring photography helped shape the Cineplex brand, increase sales and showcase a true VIP experience.
